The
land mafia with the help of the local police and few trustee of Khasgi Trust of
Ma Ahilyabai, Indore are continuously giving threat to the people living in
rent house at D/18/16, Holkar Vada, situated at Ma Ahilaya Bai ghat from
generation. They want to vacate this place and open hotel there. Due to
which the heritage of Ahilyabai[i] is
in danger. There is rare and ancient temple of Ganga in the Holkar
vada. This building is protected under the Ancient monuments and archaeological
sites and remains Act, 1958. Before the merger of the Holkar estate in India
many sevak, bhakt, anuwayi (followers) and tenant live in the vada (heritage
Place) and paid the rent. The land mafia and police are not creating pressure
on the tenant but land mafias are misbehaving with the women. The tenants
deposit their rent in the Varanasi court.
Pooja
Singh, the tenant informed, “My father is lawyer,
even in court premise the land mafias are putting pressure on my father to
vacate the house. Due to which my father is in mental pressure he says either I
will stop going to court or coming back to house. You all take care of yourself.
We are so poor that immediately we cannot rent house for our stay. On 17th April
2019 two policemen came to my house and ask my father name and all people
living in my house. Police give threat that of we are not going to vacate the
house than they will lodge FIR against us. Due to the fear my father said we
would leave the house in two days. Within two days again policemen came and
start pressure with vacate room in two hours. Every time police come
with the paper but it never show to us. Police called my father in the police
station to show the paper. But before showing the paper police made pressure on
my father to vacate the house. Police said you are simple person and even we
are getting pressure from above.”
On 19thApril
2019, the residents of the Maharani Ahilyabai Smriti Sanrakshan Samiti
organized press conference and reveled the name land mafia Vishal alias Monu
Khanna, Ramesh Upadhyay, NirajJha and also appealed people for providing help

In 2017 another tenant Ms. Uma Singh wrote letter to all
concerned authorities and appealed that no further action or investigation was
taken by the police in the crime no. 0167/2017 under section 452, 354, 504 and 506 of
Indian Penal code.
In the incidence happened with her on 14th October, 2017 the land
mafia entered in the house and misbehaved and give threat to rape and kill.
Background information:
Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar was
the Holkar Queen of the Maratha Malwa kingdom, India. Rajmata Ahilyabai
was born in the village of Chondi in Jamkhed, Ahmednagar,
Maharashtra. She moved the capital to Maheshwar south
of Indore on
the Narmada River. She used personal fund in charitable
works to build a number of temples and spiritual residences
throughout the city of Varanasi such as Varanasi – KashiVishwanath Temple (1780),
ShriTarakeshwar, ShriGangaji, AhilyaDwarkeshwar, Gautameshwar, Many Shiva Temples; Ghats including Manikarnika
Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, JananaGhat, AhilyaGhat,
ShitalaGhat; Uttar Kashi Dharmashala, Rameshwar Panchkoshi Dharmashala,
KapilaDhara Dharmashala, In 1778-1785 the
ghat was extended and was completely re-built by the patronage of queen
Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of Madhya Pradesh. In honour and memory the ghat is
named after her.
The
Khasgi trust is taking care of all properties across India built by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. The extension of the
trust was done on the order of the court on 27th June 1962 and
governor of the Madhya Pradesh is patron of the trust. Now Ms. Anandi Ben is
honorable Governor of the Madhya Pradesh state. The president and settler is
Usha Raje of Ahilyabai dynasty and given below person are member

The
district collector is the nominee of the state Government. It is
noted that Trustee Shri Satish Malhotra is husband of President Ms. Usha Raje. In the
point 8 of the order “The religious properties comprised in the Khasgi
endowment shall never be sold.” But in Point 9 it is written that if
there is pressing need of selling or leasing any part of the Khasgi endowment
which is not used and which is not capable of being used for the religious
purpose it may be sold or leased by a unanimous resolution
of the trustee.
The trust did not followed the order of the court and make deal of
Kushawarth Ghat in Haridwar built by Ahilya Bai Holkar with land Mafia.
This matter lasted for a long time. The trustee of Khasgi Trust and Member of
Parliament from Indore Ms. Sumitra Mahajan wrote letter to Chief Minister of Madhya
Pradesh on 18th April, 2012 and made guilty to Satish Malhotra. Many
communications was made in this regards. After seven years on 9th April, 2019
FIR (under section 120 B, 420, 467 and 471) was registered against Satish
Malhotra in Haridwar Kotwali Thana, Uttarkhand on the order of the
district court, Haridwar.
It is stated that in 2007 Satish Malhotra taking the benefits of the
one resolution started illegally sell the properties made
by Ahilyabai Holkar.
