Upon encountering a poignant news article in Amar Ujala, PVCHR (People's Vigilance Committee on Human Rights) swiftly lodged a formal complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in New Delhi on February 5, 2024. The news story shed light on the plight of a victimized family, compelling PVCHR to advocate fervently for justice.

Acknowledging the urgency of the matter, the NHRC promptly registered it under Case Number 59/35/7/2024. In a commendable gesture, the owner of the stone crusher implicated in the incident extended financial assistance of 11 lakh rupees to the affected family, offering them a semblance of solace amidst their profound loss.

Subsequently, directives were issued to the Labor Commissioner, Uttarakhand, Nainital, and the SSP, Nainital, Uttarakhand, soliciting an Action Taken Report within four weeks.

However, in a subsequent report dated March 16, 2024, from the DGP, Uttarakhand's office, it was elucidated that the matter falls under PS Swar, District Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. Hence, it was deemed appropriate to conduct the investigation in District Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.

Consequently, the Commission has directed the transmission of the complaint to the Labor Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh, and the SSP, Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. These authorities are mandated to probe the allegations and furnish an Action Taken Report within four weeks for the Commission's scrutiny.
