Shruti Nagvanshi is icon for rising of marginalized and rural women in India

Her book “Margin to Center” co-authored with Dr. Archana Kaushik published by frontpage publication, London. Mr.Ali Mahdjoubi, Head of the office of the Vice-President Claudia Roth MP in the German Bundestag writes in his email, “I congratulate you and the team of PVCHR to this important book. The book will certainly support the work of many activists. The information about the book I have forwarded to the MPs of the Green Group in the German Bundestag who are responsible for the fields of foreign and human rights policies, with the recommendation to make the book in their circles known and to promote it.”
My first meeting with Shruti Nagvanshi in 1991 was fruitful and we married on 22 February 1992. Since her marriage, she involved in social work and activism. I support comment of Mr. Henri Tiphagne, a eminent Human Rights Defender and founder of peoples’ Watch, “Your simplicity, commitment, hard work and political acumen as a woman human rights defender is what we all admire.”

The current study has added to the evidence of TT as an effective method for reducing psychological distress and increasing well-being and social participation in Indian survivors of TOV. Sharing their trauma story through the testimony process improved the survivors’ psychosocial functioning and enabled them to advance on the path to recovery, accepting new responsibilities and regaining satisfactory functioning in their families and environment. Furthermore, it appears that TT has a positive impact at the community level by promoting community empowerment. This study provides the foundation for further research on this aspect, such as controlled trials to determine the effect of TT on individual- and community outcome measures.
