PVCHR is appalled by the military coup in #Myanmar and the arrest of political leaders. The military has once again pushed democracy aside and arrested leading representatives of the legally elected government. PVCHR asks for the immediate release of arrested politicians, and for the result of last year’s general election to be respected.
PVCHR appeals to all actors and world leaders for their efforts to combat masculinity driven militarist traditions, contribute to bettering conditions for peace in world and to act as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of masculinity driven militarist traditions as a weapon of war and conflict. Military Coup, Killing of Rohingya in Myanmar, and emerging fascism in Asia are outcome of masculinity driven militarist traditions of Asian Society.
