Fiza’s Flight — From the Lanes of Varanasi to the Path of Justice

Fiza’s Flight — From the Lanes of Varanasi to the Path of Justice

Born in the Narrow Lanes, Dreaming of the Courtroom

In the bustling lanes of Varanasi, the morning hum of totos (electric rickshaws) fills the air. Among them rides one driven by Sirajuddin, a hardworking father whose daily labor keeps his family’s small kitchen fire burning.

With ten children in the family — many now living separately — life has never been easy. His daughter Fiza Parveen, the sixth among them, grew up watching her father’s relentless struggle and her mother Laila Nisha’s battle with illness. Most of the family’s meager income goes toward medicines and basic survival.

In such a home, the idea of educating a daughter was seen not as a need, but as a burden.

But Fiza was different.

She found her world in books. She dreamed not of comfort, but of change. She wanted to become a lawyer — a voice for justice, for those who could not speak for themselves.

When Dreams Met Resistance

When Fiza told her family she wanted to continue her studies after high school, silence filled the room. Her father, tired from years of struggle, said softly,

“Beti, now stop studying… it’s time to take care of the home.”

That could have been the end of her story — but fate had other plans.

At that turning point, the MUSKAN BAI Scholarship Program of the People’s Vigilance Committee on Human Rights (PVCHR) entered her life like a ray of light.

“If I hadn’t received support from this program,” Fiza says, “I would never have been able to reach my books again. My parents were not ready, but once they saw my dedication, they began to support me.”

A New Beginning: Confidence and Courage

Today, Fiza is a bright and confident 12th-grade student. She doesn’t just study — she speaks up. She participates in street plays (nukkad nataks) and discussions about social justice and human rights.

Her voice, once silenced by poverty, now echoes with confidence.
She speaks about equality, dignity, and fairness — and dreams of fighting in courtrooms one day, not for fame, but for the voiceless.

“One day I’ll be a lawyer,” Fiza says firmly, “so that no poor or helpless person feels alone in their fight for justice.”

Her story is a living proof that education is not just about books — it’s about building the power to change one’s destiny.

A Ray of Hope: The Power of Support

For girls like Fiza, scholarships are not mere financial aid — they are lifelines.
Through the PVCHR Scholarship, Fiza received not only the funds to study but also emotional encouragement, mentorship, and the belief that her dreams matter.

Each contribution made by donors has helped break a generational cycle of poverty and silence — replacing it with learning, voice, and self-worth.

Today, when Fiza’s father watches her reading late into the night or performing in school plays, pride replaces hesitation. What was once a “burden” has now become the family’s greatest hope.

💖 Gratitude That Empowers Dreams

We extend heartfelt thanks to Ms. Parul Sharma and the generous donors from Sweden, whose kindness and continued support make stories like Fiza’s possible.

Your belief in the power of education has turned barriers into bridges. You have helped a young girl reclaim her right to dream — and inspired her entire community to believe that daughters, too, can change the world.

“You didn’t just fund my education,” Fiza says with a smile, “you gave me my wings.”

The Journey Ahead

Fiza’s journey is still unfolding. But her direction is clear — toward justice, equality, and hope. She represents thousands of young girls who, given the chance, can transform not only their own lives but also the fabric of their communities.

Because when one girl learns,
🌿 a family grows,
🌿 a community awakens,
🌿 and a society takes flight.

🌍 Together, We Are Creating Change

Through the compassion of our supporters and the tireless efforts of PVCHR, young girls like Fiza are rising beyond poverty, gender bias, and social barriers.

Your continued partnership ensures that every “Fiza” — with a dream in her eyes and courage in her heart — can find her wings and take flight.

Thank you for being the wind beneath those wings.
Thank you for believing in education, equality, and empowerment.
