Some moments quietly capture the spirit of global solidarity — moments where ideas, people, and shared values intersect. One such meaningful evening unfolded at Hotel Ambassador, Khan Market, during our meeting with Mr. Tobias Grote-Beverborg, Chairperson of the Indo-German Society of Köln, who is currently visiting India.
Our conversation moved across themes of human rights, social justice, peace-building, literature, and cross-cultural dialogue, rooted in lived realities and global responsibility. The setting itself offered a powerful symbolic reminder of women’s leadership when we encountered the remarkable book “हम | When Women Lead”.
“हम | When Women Lead” — Celebrating 75 Women Shaping India’s Future
When Women Lead is a landmark publication by UN Women, supported by the Ford Foundation, celebrating 75 pioneering women from across India whose leadership is driving social, economic, and political transformation.
Launched in March 2024 during CSW-68 and International Women’s Day celebrations, the book highlights women leaders from diverse regions and backgrounds — grassroots activists, social innovators, artists, educators, and rights defenders — who are redefining leadership beyond formal power.
We are immensely proud to share that Shruti Nagvanshi is featured among these 75 inspiring women, recognized by UN Women for her courageous leadership and long-standing commitment to human rights, gender justice, and social transformation, particularly in Uttar Pradesh.
Her work exemplifies how women’s leadership — grounded in empathy, resistance, and community engagement — creates pathways to dignity and justice for the most marginalized.
