Medical camp of women in Varanasi

Jan Mitra Nyas together with Jain hospital holds three days i.e. on 8th, 9th and 10th April, 2009 free health checkup for women and children at Jain Hospital, Pandeypur, opposite Hanuman Ji Mandir, Varanasi funded by Ms. Parul Sharma and Ms. Linnea Lofjord of Sweden.

124 female age group 14 -50 years and 11 infants age group 0-12 months were benefited in the health camp from nearby areas named Aayar, Shivrampur, Bhaithauli, Belawa, Pindra, Baghawanala, Hukulganj,Mishirpura, jaisinghpur etc.

 

 

The Nutritional status of infants were diagnosed and one infant was suffering from sever malnutrition grade IV and rest were from diarrhoea and respiratory disorders.

 

 124 women were diagnosed for gynecological disorders in which 2 of them were pregnant, 15 were having menstrual disorder, 1having dysfunctional uterine bleeding, 23 were suffering from problem of leucorrhoea and 2 are with primary infertility. 19 female have disorders like vertigo, pain abdomen, chest pain, burning micturition and low back pain, 1 is found with Koch's abdomen and 2 with pulmonary koch's, they all are treated accordingly.

 

        In this camp many patients were send for hematological investigations like TLC, DLC, ESR, Hb% and Mantoux test. Chest X-rays of 3 patients and paps smear of few patients were taken. 4 patients were referred to other hospital for treatment at their own expense for hysterectomy operation and 2 cases of primary infertility

 

MBC a Korean national television made the documentary film on the work of PVCHR which is telecast in Korean language and will be telecast in English language in the month of August, 2009.  MBC also covered the health camp.

 

In the next phase PVCHR wants to organize health camp in Mirzapur district.
