Direction issued by the Commission	These proceedings are in continuation of the earlier proceedings of the Commission dated 24.12.2010, wherein it directed to issue a final reminder to the District Magistrate, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, calling for the reports within four weeks failing which the Commission shall be constrained to invoke provisions of Section 13 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993. No response has been received so far. Under the circumstances, the Commission is constrained to invoke provisions contained in Section 13 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, and directs District Magistrate, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, to appear, in person, before the Commission on 17/06/2011 at 11 AM alongwith the requisite reports. Should, however, copy of the requisite reports be received by the Commission on or before 10/06/2011 the personal appearance of the District Magistrate, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, shall stand dispensed with.
