To commemorate the United Nations
International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, People's Vigilance
Committee on Human Rights, Centre for Contemporary Studies and Research,
Human Rights Law Network, and Voice of People in collaboration
with Dwaba Vikas Samiti, AIM, Wada Foundation and All India Secular
Forum organized a multi state holder consultation in support of
survivors of torture victims on 26 June at Hotel Clarks Awadh in
Lucknow.
Every year, June 26 is observed as International Day
in Support of victims of torture all over the world. On this day in
1987, the United Nations Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel,
Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment came into effect.
